Dad Update 1-12-06

Dad is having his second day of chemo of round 2. He'll have one more tomorrow to complete round 2. Then he will have 4 more rounds to go. He saw Dr. Flynn yesterday and found out that the Dr. is happy with the results so far and the shrinking of the tumor. His counts were up so they went ahead with round 2. He'll have to take it easy after tomorrow as his counts will likely drop again after day 3 of round 2. They kill good cells and bad ones so it's always a fine line to get the right dosage of the chemo drugs. They want to kill as many bad ones as possible without killing you. Mom got a cell phone today. Her number is 952-451-9864. They like the nurses and are getting a private room for his treatments. This helps as then he can sleep during the chemo. In two weeks he will be getting a port-a-cath to make the process easier. It's tough on your veins to have so many treatments. The port makes it less painful and speeds up the introduction of the drugs into your system. This will all be in place before round 3 begins.
