Dad's getting better

With his chemo behind him and a few days rest Dad is feeling a lot better. He's not as crabby and his appetite is good. Thanks for everyone's prayers, cards, visits etc. I think he's on the mend.

Easter Dinner Photos

Notice that Dad is wearing his new Twins t-shirt. Too bad they lost they game on Sunday. But the game Saturday was very exciting and he stayed up late to catch the whole game.

You'll also notice that part of our day on Easter included a "Sleeping Contest". Jim and Jeff were the winners.

We had visitors in the afternoon to see mom and dad. Their good friends Duane and Barb Everson (also my neighbors) stopped in to visit and share some dessert with us.

Dad update

Dad went to the hospital today. He was dehydrated again and took on a bag of saline. His Dr. was doing rounds at the hosptial so Judy got the Dr. to look in on dad. The Dr. checked his lungs and said they sounded good. NO pnemonia. He gave dad a prescription for some Previcide for his stomach acid. It's been pretty tough for him to eat or even drink anything. SO, with a little liquid pumped in and stomach relief he will hopefullly be on the mend. He's been pretty down in the dumps the last few days.

Visitors from Canada

Terry and Vivianna Brown stopped in Northfield to visit us on their way home to Canada. Dad was having chemo at the time so they came to the hospital to visit. Both mom and dad really enjoyed seeing the Brown's and appreciated them going out of their way to visit. Judy supplied coffee and cookies for all while dad was getting his chemo.

Dad is feeling pretty tough today. It was the last day of his last treatment and he is worn out. He has acid reflux that is making him very uncomfortable. His counts are low and he hasn't got much left to fight with. He's very glad that the chemo is all done. The last treatment is usually the worst. That has sure been the case for him.

Home Again, Home Again...

The travelers made it home safely on Sunday afternoon. Sounds like it was a foggy and tense ride from Omaha but Bonnie kept things moving and got them home. The family enjoyed the weekly "Sunday Dinner" with a surprise guest (Rynda).
