Iowa fun

Mom, Julie and i made a quick visit to Iowa.   It was fun to see all the kids (and adults).  I tried to catch a photo, but as you can imagine it's tough to get them all together at the same time.  See below.

The Phone number is gone....

I finally got rid of my land line.  It's the end of 507-645-4312.   The Mieska family has had that phone number since around 1969.  40+ years and now it is no longer our number.  First mom and dad had that number and then I took it when I moved to Northfield 20+ years ago.  Wow, that's a LONG time.   In a few years kids will ask "what's a land line"?   LOL.

Jeopardy!!

Cousin Rynda's daughter Julia was a contestant on Jeopary recently.   Here she is in a photo with Alex Trebek.  Good idea.

Tune in Monday, December 20 to see her. I can't divulge whether she won or not but I can report that she hasn't paid off her mortgage, remodeled her kitchen or bought a new car yet. She had a good time out there including taking in an Angels baseball game. (The taping was done in September.) She was impressed with the Jeopardy staff. Did she study? Not that much. I think she spent more time trying to figure out several amusing anecdotes about herself that Alex could chat with her about. She really didn't want to use "I'm a librarian who likes to read and knit." She did knit the scarf she's wearing in the photo.
