Another day, another dollar--or two??
No, I didn't make a dollar but I had to spend some. The water pump went out on my car so had to take it to a garage and get it fixed. Then I went to Mexico for a dental check-up and had to have one of my gold crowns extracted Ouch! My mouth is still very sore. Tell Luke that I lost some of the gold that he liked.
I went to the Viewpoint Band Concert Sunday evening. It is a really good band and the music they play is fun to listen to.
Tuesday I entertained Ed & Norine and Rita Erickson for dinner. Wednesday I went with Ed & Norine to Mexico. Thursday, I went to the Barbary Coast Dixieland Band (they used to be called the Barbary Coast Banjo Band because they had 6 banjos in it. They are all from Minnesota and they are GOOD.
Friday was the Viewpoint All Resort Revue. It is local talent from the park and it was funny and fun.
Saturday I spent a few hours up at the ball park cause it is the last tournaments of the season.
I kept thinking of what I was missing up at Northfield. Heather & Bethanie were having a baby shower for Whitney (Josh's wife) at Ann & Jeff's house. It sounds like she got lots of great gifts for Baby Girl, Claire.
I'll be missing another great party this next Saturday. The girls will be celebrating Grandma Mieska's 109th birthday. This has become a tradition--Phyllis, Rynda, Bonnie, Ann, Sue and some of the grandchildren girls meet at the old restaurant in Southdale and celebrate what would be Grandma Edna's birthday. She's been gone since 1998 but they still reminisce about the great life she lead. I'll be thinking of you.
The weather here is to be envied by all of you in Minnesota. It is 85 degrees today. I know you are still struggling with snow and wonder when it will ever stop!..Once again, I am fortunate that I can be down here and enjoy each day.
Until next week, Love LaVerne
