Don't transport a brand new puppy in your lap in the car. Said puppy will throw up all over you and the car.
Don't get up in the night if the puppy cries while kennel training. Even if you discover in the morning that the puppy was sick and poooed all over the kennel. Or maybe do get up and check.
Reward the puppy when he pees outside. So far no accidents in the house. (except for the kennel thing which wasn't really his fault.
