Our Trip to Arizona included a trip to BUCA for dinner. I think Dad even picked up the tab. Can that be true?

Here is dad in the kitchen of their place in Arizona frying bacon. Dad---cooking?

Happy times in Arizona raising a cup to say cheers.

The famous "Biker Dude" photo of Dad. He had to show off a little by dragging out his "bike" to join us. He was so excited to tell all the neighbors about our big ride.

Dad with Phyllis an Darlene.

We took a trip to Iowa to ride with Steve and Peggy and mom and dad came along. Dad even rode on the bike with Steve one day. Yes, dad cried when he saw us all together on bikes.

The famous "Motel from Hell" that even dad wouldn't sleep in.

I didn't think of it at the time I took the photo but here is dad at the Big Steer Parking lot on our trip to Iowa. I bet we never took a photo of him in all the years he owned it. Well, here's to the Big Steer dad.

well....I'm pretty sure Dad didn't pick up the tab for that birthday dinner...but then I think he picked up his share over the years. Greg shot a deer yesterday and for a split second I thought about how excited dad would be to hear about it,,,but then, of course, he already knew. So he told mom about it when she called today.... At a recent women's half day prayer retreat we were asked what one thing would you grab as you exited your burning house? I thought for a minute and realized it would be a tiny picture of dad I keep in the kitchen. He's holding a drink in his hand, of course and smiling that "cheers" smile. I just was afraid without that picture I might forget what he looked like..."cheers" dad....Bonnie
oh and...that "motel from hell" actually had a very nice....sign.
I didn't have the pleasure of actually calling the "motel from hell" home that night, but it certainly stunk of high class lake okoboji resort living! Well anyway, as I recall, there wasn't much moaning and groaning about it, but I certainly do remember plenty of laughing...just what we all needed that night!!
Take care, God bless, and Cheers to grandpa!
