travel notes

Yes, this is mom on the back of Steve's bike. This is the beginning of the ride to Carefree.

Greetings from 90 degree Mesa, home of LaVerne, and vacation villa of Bonnie, Greg, Steve, Peggy, Annie, Jeff, Sue, Julie and Steven & Ann Kennon!

We have had a wonderful 9 days. Steve, Jeff, Steven and Julie arrived Thursday, to Mom's surprise and delight, one day early! Sue, Annie, Bonnie, Greg and Peggy drove in from the airport on Friday. Ann K. arrived Saturday.

We ate a lot, shopped every Harley dealer we could fin, rode Harleys every day and caught a little sunshine and hot tub/pool action.

On Wednesday, March 7, 2007, LaVerne went on her first Harley day trip to Carefree, via Usuary Pass, Bush Highway, Fort McDowell and Fountain Hills. LaVerne reports "you haven't seen the mountains until you've seen them from a Harley!" She thoroughly enjoyed the ride, we had her all outfitted in Harley gear! She did mess up her hairdo, which was a tragedy we heard about until she got her fresh "do" on Friday!

We had a wonderful gathering with friends, Richard and Joyce Jones, Ed and Norine Maier and Art and Arelene Martin. We shared lots of Marland stories and had a few laughs and tears.

We enjoyed zesty margaritas and drinks and super hors d' oeuvres at Phyllis and Bud's place one evening.

The dusty travelers leave on Friday and Mom will be busy cleaning up the mess for days! Just kidding, Mieskas know how to clean up after themselves, well taught!

We all enjoyed each with Mom, and all the benefits Arizona has to offer; sunshine and fresh squeezed orange juice from Moms tree!!

We love you Mom

Annie and the gang
