We are family...

Welcome to my first cousin once removed. The tall guy in the back with dark hair and handsome looks is my cousin Jay Berge's son. They were reunited a few month agos after Michael found us on the Mieska Blog. Some time ago I got an email from Michael who was quite sure he had googled the right family in his search for his dad. I wasn't exactly sure who he was so I passed the email on to my sister Bonnie who knew more of the family history and where Michael fit in the family. The three of us emailed back and forth for many months and then gave Michael Jay's email address and the rest, as they say, is history. It has been a very happy reunion and we were delighted that Michael wanted to meet the Mieska's on his trip here to meet up with his dad. Also in the photo below is cousin Jay, son Jake, my sisters Bonnie and Annie and of course, my mom LaVerne. Michael has been watching our blog for awhile now and knows that mom is in most of the photos we post.
Below is Michael and the 2 email conspiritors he met while googleing Mieska, Berge, Minnesota. How great is the internet?
Below is Michael, Jay, Jake and mom. See the family resemblance? Apparently Micheal and Jake look alike in photos of Mike when he was Jake's age. I guess you can't repress that Berge handsome face.
Mike, Jay and Jake.
We had a great evening of conversation and a walk down memory lane. Dad would have been crying the whole time!!! I'll soon post Mike's email address if anyone wants to email him family stories or other information.

Arizona or Bust

Sunday, October 21, 2007

We had our last weekly “Mieska Family Dinner at Mom’s” last night. We had chicken pie with biscuits and apple crisp. Mom has a busy week planned with last minute appointments and packing. She leaves for Arizona on Thursday morning. You can still get in contact with her via her email account mlmieska@aol.com , as well as her phone in Arizona 480-373-1108 and her cell phone 952-451-9864. She is excited to get back to Arizona friends and weather, but sad to leave her family behind in chilly Minnesota. Bon Voyage, Mom!

Email from Tara

Hi Sue,
Yes, it is me!
Great to hear from you. Things are going well for us. Our baby girl is due December 24 and we are so excited. We just bought a house in the same neighborhood as my mom and dad. This will be great support when the baby comes. So how are you? How is everyone, Heather, Josh, Jessie, Beth, etc.? How is your mom doing?
It is a small world, thanks for emailing!
Tara :)

Baby News from Peggy's daughter Jenny

Well....ultrasound results from Jenny's exam Thurs. were "fuzzy" but there's about an 80% chance she's having a GIRL !!!
Baby was kind of shy during exam but all pics were indicative of female. It was very exciting to watch and got very clear pix of feet/legs/arms/heart/face. She's thinking of "Ava" for a name at this point. Due date remains the last week of January. Now it will be exciting to see if she has a female Mieska cousin to grow up with at Jere/Gina's house!!!
