No one can work a birthday better than mom. She had yet another party in Arizona with her girlfriends. Here is a letter from mom:
Hi from Rainy Arizona!
Yes, it rained Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. That is pretty unusual for here but now it is still cool. I'm hoping for some really warm weather for next week when Annie comes for a visit.
Last week was birthday week for me. Monday Norine, Jean, Grace, Julie and Pat took me to lunch at our Terrace Green restaurant here in the park. Besides the lunch, we had balloons, gifts, and individual cheesecake birthday cakes. Lots of laughter and fun. On Saturday evening, Alice had me for dinner with Shirley, Nancy, Inger, and another Pat. Also on Saturday and Sunday, I had phone calls, and facebook messages, and skype sightings from my 4 children and all 8 grandchildren. I was remembered with phone calls from several other family members. I am still getting cards from other family and friends. All in all, it was a very special birthday for me and I will remember it always. Thank you.
It's Tuesday, and I just had a call from Lorn & Kitty Schneeberger. They are coming over and we're going for lunch. So begins a new and busy week for me. I like it that way!

Boy, is my face red, totally forgot to acknowledge your birthday. I had thot of it before the 20th, and was going to make sure I sent you at least an e-birthday card. So now you can have a belated birthday wish from me. I remember when Phyllis turned 80, I thot "wow, is she old!" Now I'm almost there, too.
I will be home next week, the same time as Ann will be in AZ with you. Hope she has better weather then, than we are experiencing most of the time since I've been here, at Mary's.
I'm getting lost with all these new babies, so when I get home I will have to update the genealogy book. I may have to check with you, on who's who, since you didn't write the last names.
