Good Morning!
Josh and I are walking on air today! We had an ultrasound this morning- the first trimester screening. It’s an optional test that looks for Down syndrome indicators. We primarily chose to have it because we wanted another ultrasound! It was breathtaking! I wish I had a scanner but I don’t, so I am going to take some pictures of the pictures and post them on my blog in the next couple days. The baby had its right hand in the air the whole time, like it was waving hi! You could see all 5 precious little fingers. We also got a picture of the adorable little foot (don’t worry- it does have two feet but only one is in the picture).
Then, she switched to the 3D ultrasound! This is not normal but I think she gives me a little extra TLC because she knows everything we’ve been through. The baby was incredibly active and did a dance for us. After dancing, it did a total backflip! Josh described it as “surreal”. The u/s tech said that we have a “little show-off” because they usually don’t put on a show like that! I said that it’s a ham just like its mama. We got a 3D picture that I can’t wait to share. I may be biased, but it is one gorgeous little baby.
The baby is measuring exactly on track and had a heart rate of 156 bpm. It’s three inches long.
We feel so terribly blessed and grateful. We love this baby so much already. When we were driving in after the appt I asked Josh if he could choose, would he choose a boy or girl? He said that he absolutely would not choose because he wants a healthy baby and would feel blessed with either gender. I feel the same way!
Thanks for listening to my gushing. I don’t know how I am supposed to concentrate at work today… let alone for the next 6 months!
P.S. I celebrated making it to 12 weeks (today!) by having a nice cup of Starbucks decaf coffee. It’s been 9 whole weeks since I have had coffee!
