Update on dad February 14

Happy Valentine's Day.

Dad had a blood draw today and had some mixed news with his counts. His white cells are ok, but his platelets are pretty low. He has to keep an eye on any bleeding and get to the ER if he has a nose bleed etc.
He went to the casino today, but only lasted an hour so you know he must be sick. His next treatment is February 20. Yes, that is mom's birthday so bummer for her. Hopefully his counts will bounce up a little before then or they will delay the chemo. His spirits are pretty good but it gets boring sitting around the house all day. He doesn't have much energy (evidenced in the lack of gambling time today) and sleeps a lot. Call or send cards. He loves hearing from people. Or you can write a comment on this web site and I will forward it to him.

Hey Marland, sorry you couldn't last long enough at the casino to win a bundle. You hang in there, you hear? We are all pulling for you. Had Ed and Norine, Tony and Jean and Grace and Al Conklin over for coctails to help us celebrate out anniversary. It was fun but not the same without you two. Love you both,, Richard and Joyce

Dear Marland,
Ok, so at least you're hanging out somewhere (the casino) that doesn't have any fly balls that could land on your nose and cause bleeding! And VP Cheney isn't one of your hunting buddies.
I hope you dig in and treat your next round of chemo as another chance at a winning season. I recall that most sluggers can only hope for 1 in 3 hits, and it seems to me that you're WAY above that average. You go, Hammer!
Love,
