Happy Birthday Dad.

Dad would have been 86 years old today. I imagine him still in good health and enjoying life. He would be proud of his kids and his grandkids and his great grandkids. I suspect he'd have to be lowering his hearing aids when the great grandkids were around. I thought of him yesterday as I watched the Super Bowl and how he loved watching the Vikings play. He was a fair weather fan, but loyal. He'd be crying at the Super Bowl commercial with the dog and the horse in it. I miss him.

Car Tales

On the way home from work last night my radio started working again.  It hasn't worked in 3 years and last night it decided to come back on.   This is the same night I'm trading it in on the new car.  SO, on the drive to the dealer the radio WORKED, but you could not turn it off, change the volume or change the station.  I finally pulled over and shut off the car.  When I started it back up the radio did not work.  Whew, that was lucky. 



Here's the new ride.  Gotta love a car that has a working radio!!

My 2004 Volvo XC90 will turn over 198,000 miles today.  I'm trading it in on a 2013 Volvo XC60 with about 15,000 miles on it.  I have always taken good care of my cars (thanks Dad) and make sure the interior is always clean and tiday.   Today I got a bag of Cheeots to eat in the old car just before I trade it in.   My little joke

Trip to Iowa

We took a quick trip to Iowa to visit Zac's Family as they were visiting from Florida.   For some reason I can't label the photos so I'll try to explain who is in them.  Zac, Amber, Maddie and Lillie are visiting from Florida.  Also in the photo are Jere and Gina's kids, Luke, Owen, Jude and Finn.

At Last...

At Last...we are finally on the water.  It's been a LONG spring, but with a LOT of help and a little luck we got the boat in the water.  We actually had TWO nice days in a row.  The new boat is awesome and we are so happy with it. 

The Beach is back

For the last 10 days we have been cleaing the beach AGAIN.   The before photos are from 10 days ago and the after photos are from today.    Mother Nature has been in a bad mood for months.  Let's hope she is feeling better soon!!
